How Can I Run Everyday Without Getting Injured
If I run regularly or think about the first run in the park, here are some tips to help I stay motivated and avoid injuries:
The first tip, invest in some new trainers. This may seem extravagant, but if my current coaches are more than a year old or they have run more than 400 miles, then my joints will feel the benefits of the new pair. Ideally, ask a specialist to recommend shoes that suit my running style.
This is almost self-evident, but warming up before running and warming up after that will help me avoid injuries. My muscles are less prone to injury if they are warm and relaxed.
Try not to be a “weekend warrior” by distributing my runs for a week. Excessive overload on the weekend will increase the risk of injury.
Beat it. Jumping from a 30-minute run to a 60-minute run during the week is a recipe for injury. A good rule of thumb is to increase my distance or running time by only 10% per week.
Listen to my body. Pain, swelling, and stiffness are the way my body tells me to feel better. If I find that these symptoms do not go away on their own or go beyond what I consider normal, it may be time to seek medical help. My doctor or local osteopath will be a good start.
Consider joining a local running club. Running with other people remains motivated and provides an excellent opportunity to share tips. An excellent place to start is the running club database at www.timeoutdoors.com.
To prevent injury and boredom, consider adding swimming, cycling, yoga, or Pilates to my running program. A balanced run with some strength and flexibility exercises will help reduce the risk of injury. Also, consider Compression Leg Sleeves this will help you to avoid sliding.
Make sure I relax a lot. Easier said than done for most of us, but burning a candle at both ends ultimately means something has to give, and too often it leads to injury, but Anti-Blister Socks will help you to avoid that.
Prevention is always better than cure. Following these simple tips is a great place to start if I want to avoid the annoying injuries that stop my workouts. Preventing injuries, I will not only achieve my goals faster but, most importantly, will have fun along the way. So, whether it is the Olympic medal I am looking for or just the joy of running around the park – do not let the injuries that can be avoided by slowing, I will down be avoided.
